“Five years ago, my husband and I began construction of our new home in the City of Kawartha Lakes. We employed several local businesses throughout the process; Fawcett J. Excavating being one of them. Our history, as satisfied customers, began about 4 years ago when I was first very impressed with the quality of work and skill Josh Fawcett displayed creating an armour stone shoreline, just prior to forming his own company.
Our property required a great deal of excavating and landscaping and I used three different companies in the process. Fawcett J. Excavating has provided us with outstanding services since the company was formed in 2010. One of these services included very specific excavation work required for one of our outbuildings. Specifications were made, by a qualified soil engineer, to create an engineered fill pad for a raft slab to be placed on. The work was done professionally, on time and at a very reasonable cost. Like most construction projects, this one was not without its issues. I must say, however, I was very impressed with how calmly Josh dealt with adversity and continued to carry on until the job was done exactly right.
As well as excavation done on our property, we used Fawcett J. Excavating to do some landscaping. A rock retaining wall, that forms the driveway down to our outbuilding, was done not only with a great deal of skill but also creativity. An unexpected business trip made it impossible for me to be on site during some of the landscaping work. Josh took the initiative to continue on with a just few email exchanges and the work was completed to my specifications. Josh’s effective communication skills made this possible.
I have always appreciated Josh’s quick response to emails or voice mails as well as his respectful, courteous and professional manner. Also, his staff has consistently made extra efforts to assist us in completing our projects on time and accurately. Very impressive service and after service.

Josh was diligent in coming to our first meeting. He listened carefully and Much to our surprise josh informed us that he did much more than just excavating, with a gleam in eye he proceeded to see a vision and gave us a visual that we couldn’t resist, including stone and deck work. So the job was his!! he proceed with all his big equipment and within 5 days transformed our back yard into something stunning and magazine perfect. The stone work was spectacular and the attention to detail over the top.
